Extension of Campaign Finance Commission

On the question of extending the campaign finance commission, we decided to vote no for the following reasons.

First, the proposed extension was for one year and we agreed that time period was too long. The commission could have easily studied the various issues in about three to four months. A year-long study would have been a waste of taxpayer's dollars.

Secondly, the commission's members all represent groups that have special interests in changing campaign finance laws. The biggest challenge, throughout the process, has been to find citizens who are genuinely concerned about campaign finance and harbor no political groups. Until true members of the public are included on the commission, the extension will only lead to special interest groups crafting their own rules.

Finally, Lewa is nationally recognized as having a clean and honest electoral system. The current laws, by any measure, are extremely fair and equitable. Dramatic change in campaign finance laws is simply not needed. For these reasons, we voted no on extending the life of the commission.

Well one fan was literally left breathless after he sprinted a mega five kilometers after the Arsenal team coach. The Gunners, who are currently in Vietnam on the second leg of their Asia Tour 2013, were left in no doubt as to the commitment of their local supporters in Hanoi on Monday.
Their team coach, which was en route to the One Pillar Pagoda in the centre of the city, was followed for some five kilometers by a young fan later to become known as the ‘Running Man'.
The Vietnamese supporter was cheered on by the players as they chanted "Sign him up" as he maintained his pursuit of the coach.
And despite bumping into trees and a lamp post along the way he eventually clambered aboard a motorbike, reached the coach door and boarded the vehicle to a standing ovation from the Arsenal players.
He even managed to get a hug off manager Arsenal Wenger himself.
Arsenal play the Vietnam national side in the My Dinh National Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off time 1pm (UK time).
A Vietnamese football fan who chased Arsenal's team bus for miles through the streets of Hanoi said he has been invited to watch his heroes play in London.
"It was a dream come true for me to be invited to board the Arsenal bus and to meet coach (Wenger) and all the players, including my idol Mikel Arteta," he told AFP, adding that he felt "so lucky" to have met the team.
"I have also been invited to see Wenger's Arsenal team play at their home in London at Emirates Stadium, probably in August or September. It is really unbelievable," he said.
"It will be the greatest joy of my life," added the 20-year-old, who became an overnight media sensation after the video was posted on the Arsenal site on Tuesday.
Photographs of Tien with Wenger and other Arsenal players have been widely published in Vietnam's state media and in the foreign press.
He became the team's unofficial mascot on the Hanoi leg of their pre-season Asia tour, and was invited to lead the Arsenal players onto the pitch at the My Dinh stadium in Hanoi before their Wednesday match against the Vietnamese national team, which they won 7-1.

Annual income verification
On February 28, 2011 all the households received a package from the office contained Annual Income Verification Form 2011-2012 and instruction pages.
The deadline for returning this application to the office is March 31, 2011, next Thursday.
Until now I have received only 16 of them back. Please be reminded that if I do not get your application by the set deadline you are risking your subsidy and facing Market Rent housing charge as of July 1, 2011.

Annual budget meeting
At its last meeting on March 23, 2011, Board of Directors approved the new Budget for Fiscal Year 2011/2012. This budget will be presented to you at the next General Members Meeting at the end of April. Every household will receive a proper notice regarding this meeting by mid April.
During this meeting, the Board of Directors, will ask for your approval of two By-Laws.
Organizational By-Law #4 and Occupancy By-Law #5. These By-Laws were just recently updated to comply with SHRA requirements. The Board has made a decision not to circulate 85 hard copies of both by-laws to each unit but to post them on our website for you.
Therefore, please refer yourself to our website, you will find these two new By-laws under documents. Please get familiar with these documents so you can vote for their approval at our April's meeting.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention some issues with my local train service.

I take the 8 am train from Manchester to Liverpool every morning. This week, my train has arrived at least 10 minutes late each day, and I have been unable to find a seat due to overcrowding.

Passengers are becoming increasingly frustrated. I have seen several people complain to members of your staff that the delays are making them late for work, and the overcrowding means that many of us are forced to stand in the central aisle of the train for the duration of the journey. This is extremely uncomfortable.

I would like to suggest that you run a more regular service on the Manchester to Liverpool line. Another solution would be to add an extra carriage to trains at peak times in order to provide more space.

I hope you will address these concerns as soon as possible.
