Dedication is definitely a standard metric for one's promotion in the company, as according to some opinion. However, my stand for this perspective is that there are more to one's position in a company than their devotion. This viewpoint will be proved in the following essay.
Two of the most noteworthy qualities of promotion are skills and leadership abilities. Only when you have improved significantly are you aggrandized in the company. This is shown through the great results you bring for your organisation. People often complain about the new employee who got promoted only after a short time, while they, who have engaged their lifetime to the place. The explanation for this phenomena is that the employee probably has more potential to be a leader. As a result, he/she quickly escalated in the organisation.
Another argument of mine is that one's prolonged period of time does not speak much if the employee often slacks off during their time at the workplace. There is a possibility that a person who has devoted over thirty years to an organisation still, unfortunately, do not stand a chance in being given a higher position. Absenteeism or deteriorated attitude must have been the reasons why.
Notwithstanding, if you are that worker who frequently works overtime and gives rise to the profit, then there is no doubt that you will be promoted soon! In this case, your loyal commitment does pay off.
Summarizing my essay, it is conspicuous that I endorse the idea of promoting for one's skills, leadership and industry. Nevertheless, devotion can also be considered a good reason for promotion if it manifests loyalty.
