People have different views about the impact of sport sponsorship. While some people think that this advertising method can earn numerous benefits, other have opposite opinion. In this essay, I will discuss both sides of this phenomenon.

On the one hand, investing a large amount of money on sports to promote products can be a far-reaching and positive trend. Firstly, from the economical perspective, it is obvious that many spectators is attracted popular sports such as football and sport stars such as Ronando, Messi and so on regardless of national boundaries. Therefore, by adopting this marketing measure, domestic companies can promote their goods to international customers, leading to expanding new market and thus develop global economy. Secondly, having sponsorship funding allows athletes to focus more on the training and production of their sports instead of stress because of lack of money on sport facilities. Hence, it can give them a sense of satisfaction and determination, resulting in high quality performance.

On the other hand, it is likely to have several drawbacks when companies sponsor sports to advertise their goods. To begin with, due to the dependence of the fame of well-known stars to catch the public attention, the image of these organizations will be worsening by their unhealthy lifestyle scandal and detrimental reputation. For example, a product brand in China was boycotted because the representative was a famous star who was accused to tax evasion. Another disadvantage is that citizens have a tendency to pay their attention to stars rather than the good quality. Indeed, some international fandoms crazy fans are willing to buy products that have their idol image outside the package without considering about the nature of products.
